Superior Growers Supply, Inc. Superior Growers Supply®, Inc. (SGS®) is one of the premier retail hydroponic and indoor gardening supply merchants to do business in the United States. Founded in 1983, Superior Growers Supply®, Inc. has been bringing budding gardeners and commercial growers alike a vast selection of grow lights, hydroponics, organics, plant nutrients and supplements, greenhouse, nursery, and propagation supplies, along with many other garden related gifts and products.

Today, over 50 dedicated SGS® employees make it their mission to sell trusted and ecologically responsible products to successful growers in Michigan and beyond. SGS® customers include commercial and hobby growers, colleges and universities, high schools, elementary and middle schools, tech schools, restaurants, major corporations, Federal and state governments, research centers, anyone with an interest in growing healthy, productive plants.

Headquartered in Michigan, SGS® has retail stores in East Lansing, Lansing, South Lansing, Howell, and Livonia, with web/mail order and distribution facilities in the Lansing area.

We welcome hundreds of people each day into our showrooms which feature working hydroponic systems with living plants, grow lights of virtually every size and variety, grow rooms, supplies and an extensive selection of container gardening, hydroponic, watering, pest control, and general gardening accessories.

Each of our locations are fully stocked with a multitude of different products and quantities to meet the customer's needs. Our mail order warehouse and retail showroom is located in East Lansing; our second showroom is in Livonia, which is popular with customers from around the Southeast Michigan region including Ontario, Toledo and Detroit; our third showroom is on the west side of Lansing, our fourth location proudly serves South Lansing, and our newest retail store is growing in Howell. We pride ourselves on offering our customers superior service, a comprehensive selection of learning materials and books, educational in-store classes, and other indoor gardening resources to help each one succeed in his or her plant growing ambitions.

Not only do we offer an extensive selection of books and magazines, our world-reknown indoor gardening expert, Harley Smith, provides classroom opportunities on a regular basis in our stores.

Sustainability

Long before green became the defining word of environmental initiatives, SGS® was purposefully green with an intent to provide hobby growers and serious gardeners alike with ecologically responsible products.

Our committment to the environment doesn't stop there. Several in-house initiatives contribute to our committment, including, but not limited to, a high-volume shredder that enables us to recycle paper and cardboard throughout our facility into compostable packing material.

Availability

We learned long ago that growing plants and gardening is not necessarily an activity that follows the seasons. Many of us grow indoor tropicals... some of us are lucky enough to have a greenhouse. Most everyone has a lawn, deck, or balcony.

We sell plant growing supplies all year long, and thanks to our volume and advance purchasing, most of them remain in-stock not only for gardeners during the typical growing season, but for those less than typical plant enthusiasts and growers during the off-season as well.
